Production Notes
Varietal Content: 100% Pinot Noir; Cooperage: 100% French oak - 30% new, 20% second vintage, 50% neutral
		Winemaker Notes
With lovely depth and complexity, this is a wine that stimulates both the senses and the mind, offering layers of ripe red plum, black raspberry, pomegranate and savory sandalwood. On the palate, flavors of raspberry jam and chocolate are underscored by rich, silky tannins with good natural acidity adding poise and length.
		Production
After several years of drought, 2016 brought a return to normal winter rainfall levels, which replenished the Mt. Harlan vineyards and set the pace for a slightly early, but near-ideal, growing season. A warm spring led to a relatively early budbreak, followed by warm, sunny summer. While summer provided abundant sunshine for ripening the grapes, mild nights ensured that they ripened perfectly, with excellent acid and sugar levels. As a result, our 2016 Pinot Noirs are lush and balanced, with beautifully articulated flavors.

This is a must-have pinot! It's jammy and rich, making it the perfect holiday Pinot Noir. It pairs perfectly with a rich steak dinner as well as creamy brie. The perfect combination. Highly recommend! I completed this review in exchange for compensation and free product, but all views are my own.

As proficient wine drinkers, we love when we stumble upon a wine that "wows" us and make us want more. The 2016 Calera Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir Selleck Vineyard is a decadent treasure with its savory raspberry flavors with hints of chocolate. It paired well with our Italian dinner night, and everyone couldn't rave enough about it. We can't wait to share with guests over the holidays! This Pinot Noir was so yummy, must have! I'd definitely buy again to have for our holiday dinner with family and friends. The raspberry flavor with notes of chocolate is such a unique taste and really the perfect way to wind down after a long day, with your favorite dessert! I actually plan on purchasing a bottle for my mother as a gift for christmas because she would love it! It even gave my husband, who isn't a wine drinker a "wow" factor! I have purchased Calera wines since 1992. The 2017 Selleck reminds us of the 1999 Selleck which we enjoyed at Thanksgiving. One of the BEST ever! Bravo!
